Businesses are suffering enormous pain from underperforming sales teams. Underperformance translates to revenue shortages for companies. This underperformance is caused by the gap between sales people and sales managers. Many companies have the misconception that they can hire “great” salespeople and that they will perform without creating a support system for them. At the other end of the spectrum, these same companies promote sales people to sales managers and provide the individuals with little to no training for the new position. Sales people need support systems from their managers, but most sales managers are not equipped to provide this critical framework, a necessity for a successful, scalable sales organization. Thus, an enormous gap has been created between sales people and their managers.
